SSAA and Piano

This sparkling arrangement calls for full SSAA choir in clusters with a big piano part. This arrangement tries to give Longfellow’s poem justice, with bell sounds in the voices and piano, and chromaticism in the times of despair. The piano part is difficult, however the vocal parts themselves are quite stepwise. It is in 3 parts for the beginning and 4 parts at the end. It was premiered across the street from where Longfellow lived and where his wife died that gave him reason to write this poem.
